MITIGATE MAGAZINE IS..
Creating space for interdisciplinary perspectives. Its mission is to bridge disciplines and lived experience to drive informed dialogue through empathy, accountability and reform across institutions so that humanity and policy can meet more effectively. Disciplines included are: social sciences, education, health, law, environment and community innovation.
The launch issue, touching on every discipline, will feature a cover story on women in prison, highlighting the need for improved mental health care, the structural barriers they face, and the urgent need for policy change and restorative approaches within the justice system. The image is upsetting, depicting the extremely difficult daily experience of many of these women.
